I like this site for our Middle School teachers. The teachers need advice and choices on how they will integrate the new 1:1 iPad Airs in their teaching and how students will share their thoughts and work. This site gives a thoughtful comparison between what features blogging and Edmodo offer.

Edmodo is a useful tool, since it is very easy to use. Also, I can use it to turn in work over the weekend rather than having to rush to turn it in on Friday.

Edmodo provides a simple to set-up, easy to use virtual learning environment which is especially suited to smaller groups. It's a hosted service (unlike Moodle) and works quite well on mobile devices. If you're thinking of offering a blended learning package to your learners then it's a good place to start.
