I too did that with my son, we were not allowed to use phones during meal times. It was my way of trying to connect with him after a long day at school and at work. I guess the difference is where we live and how children in our neck of the woods spend their time which is outdoors. I have also seen studies on that, that students who spend less time on the screens and more outdoors do better academically. I can definitely agree that devices can be what we want them to be. We have the choice on what and how we want to use our devices.
