Moray Eel Medical Exam | Strange Snapshot of the Day | Life's Little Mysteries | Science News | Scoop.it

This video shows veterinarians at the New England Aquarium in Boston, Mass. doing a diagnostic check of a moray eel. This eel, named Bob, needed to be checked out because he hasn't been eating much and his gills are a bright, electric green. There are almost 200 species of moray eels that live in both tropical and temperate areas. Bob is a green moray eel found commonly in the Atlantic. The eel is really brown in color but a yellow mucus that covers the creature gives it a greenish hue.
