They will share how they took walls down and created a personal learning environment for their kids who drive their learning. CEM Blog Series: Racing to the Top to Personalize Learning, Th-Aug 30th @ 1PM ET

CEM Blog Series: Racing to the Top to Personalize Learning, Th-Aug 30th @ 1PM ET | Personalize Learning (#plearnchat) | Scoop.it

Join us Thursday, August 30th @ 1 PM ET to discuss the RTT-D competition and what the Absolute Priority of creating personalized learning enviroments would mean for you as a teacher, an administrator, a school, or a district.

The RTT-D competition is for LEAs that have the leadership and vision to move beyond the one-size-fits all models, are concerned about inequity for their diverse student population, and are looking at student-focused approaches. Technology levels the playing field for learners, yet just putting technology in the hands of teachers and learners isn’t enough. To be college- and career-ready and to raise the achievement gap across all groups of learners, learners need to know how they learn best and teachers need to understand how their roles will change.

CEM Blog Series: Stages of Personalized Learning Environments | Personalize Learning (#plearnchat) | Scoop.it

Join us on Thursday, August 16th at 1PM ET in Session 2 of Personalize Learning Blog Series when we discuss the Stages of Personalized Learning Environments.

The Stages of Personalized Learning Environments outlines the elements of the three stages of PLE's. In attempting to transform teaching and learning to personalized learning, consider where you are currently and envision which stage you can see feasible for your school, district or community. Participate in this blog to discuss the stages and where you may be currently and where you would like to go.

We came up with these questions to consider before embarking on your journey to personalize learning:

> Why do you want to personalize learning for your learners?

> What problems or needs have you identified in your school, organization and/or community?

> What data can you show that demonstrates the need to personalize learning?

> What does teaching and learning look like now?

> What are stakeholders beliefs about learning and change?

> Why is it critical for your organization and/or community to change now?

> What challenges or obstacles do you envision as you move to personalizing learning?

> What do you envision for your personalize learning environment?

CEM Blog Series - The Missing Piece: The Learner, Aug 23rd @1 ET

CEM Blog Series - The Missing Piece: The Learner, Aug 23rd @1 ET | Personalize Learning (#plearnchat) | Scoop.it

Join us on Thursday, August 23rd at 1PM ET in Session 3 of Personalize Learning Blog Series when we discuss The Missing Piece: The Learner.

For over a decade, the conversations have been about leaving no child behind with teachers analyzing data to develop better instructional strategies. This resulted in teachers teaching to the test which actually may have only slightly increased test scores yet decreased motivation and engagement.

What is the missing piece in these conversations? The Learner

Join us today in this important discussion about The Learner and how we can drive the conversation about transforming education with The Learner at the center.  Here are some questions to consider:

> Who are the learners today?
> How do learners learn best?
> How do we meet the needs of all learners in the classroom every day?
> What is the new role of the teacher?
> How is the role of the learner changing?
