From 1 June 2015, the police can take away more points in case of an offence or a violation. Thus, a high-speed offence now costs 6 points, driving under the influence of alcohol 4 points and the failure to acknowledge a priority 2 points - from a reserve of 12 points allocated to each driver. This reform is part of the government's effort to reduce the number of road accidents.
