5 Tips For Keeping Students On Task While Using Technology

5 Tips For Keeping Students On Task While Using Technology | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

One of the things I hear most often from teachers who are reluctant to put technology into the hands of their students is that they have visions of students goofing off constantly behind their screen instead of focusing on their work.

Playing games, chatting with their friends, and browsing the internet are all likely suspects drawing your students’ attention away from whatever the task at hand happens to be, but just because students have access to technology doesn’t mean you have to transform into device police and forget about teaching. Even if your students would much rather be watching videos on YouTube than learning about the Roman Empire, you still have the upper hand: they want to be using the device. Period.

So how can you leverage that into students who are actually working on what they should be? Here are a few tips. Tell us what you do in your classroom to keep your students from goofing off while they have devices in hand! 4 Excellent iPad Apps to Enhance Your Productivity | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
After posting about some of the best iPad apps you can use as a teacher to scan, e-sign, annotate, and share documents, here is another collection of iPad apps to facilitate your workflow and enhance your productivity. These are applications you can use on your iOS devices to bring together all of your favourite apps and automate actions across various services creating thus a better workflow experience. You are probably already familiar with the popular Workflow and IFTT apps for we have covered them in previous posts, Microsoft Flow and Copied are new here. While Microsoft Flow provides similar features to Workflow, Copied is a bit different. It is an app that enables you to clip and copy digital content (e.g., text, images, links) from any app and save it to your clipboard where you can view, edit and share it with others.

5 New Productivity Apps to Stop Procrastinating and Get Back to Work | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
The secret to productivity is that it’s subjective. No productivity system is perfect, and that’s why different techniques work for different people. It’s why there are so many apps to get things done, chase your goals, and ensure you are making progress.

The trick to staying productive is to always keep changing your system. It’s why I recommend the three-strike system to find what works for you. It’s also why you should check new apps or techniques every once in a while.
