Can't afford Microsoft's venerated program? Or maybe you want to build slide decks that really stand out? Try one of these PowerPoint killers.

Bunkr is an interesting tool I'm exploring right now. When I first came across it "1.0", it wasn't as user friendly as I would have liked. But they've nicely retooled it from the ground up and I'm looking to explore it again.

Bunkr Is The PowerPoint Killer We’ve All Been Waiting For

Bunkr Is The PowerPoint Killer We’ve All Been Waiting For | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

French startup Bunkr is focused on one simple task: killing PowerPoint. To achieve this goal, the company’s well-designed web app will help you collect visual content and organize it into slides. The result is a very visual HTML5 presentation that works on your computer, phone or tablet. You can export your work in PDF or PPT as well.

Jim Lerman's insight:

Looks like a very functional app that will enable rapid production of slide decks. Cost is $3 per month. I think I'd rather buy it than rent it.

Cocorico, un groupe français qui innnove dans le domaine des outils de présentation, peut-être pas la fin de PowerPoint mais au moins une alternative intéressante.

Web-based presentation tool that you can develop on the fly (evernote style) and have multiple contributors - however there is a subscription fee after two presentations. HTML5 back end

Bunkr - Create presentations with Facebook posts, videos, Vine, Instagram, tweets

Bunkr - Create presentations with Facebook posts, videos, Vine, Instagram, tweets | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

description by Romain Dillet, TechCrunch

"Bunkr is the fastest and best way to pull data and content from the web and put a presentation together. When you create your first slide, Bunkr will ask you to add content. Front and center, you will see buttons to pick the kind of content (like on Tumblr). Content can be an image, text, a video, a chart and more.

"But Bunkr’s true power lies behind these buttons. For example, when you click on video, you can either browse directly videos on compatible services or paste a URL from YouTube, Vimeo, Vine and many more services. It works exactly the same way for charts with Infogram and Chartblocks support, tweets, Facebook posts, SoundCloud songs, GitHub Gists, Sketchfab 3D models and more.

"And this is key to understanding Bunkr’s new approach. Instead of reinventing the wheel, the company will support as many services as possible to integrate well with your current workflow. Infogram knows charts much better than any presentation tool on the web. And if you update your chart on Infogram, it will automatically update your Bunkr presentation."

Prezi isn't the only challenger of Keynote / Powerpoint any longer. Bunkr looks interesting, but I worry if this is not further transforming us into a cut'n'paste culture.

What else is there presentation tools besides Prezi? This is one is blocked by my school district.
