Somewhere between a PowerPoint presentation and a full-fledged video is the audio slideshow. Creating audio slideshows can be a good way to add meaning to slides that otherwise might not mean much without a presenter. Here are some ways that students can create audio slideshows.

Meograph is a fantastic tool for digital storytelling. You can add practically anything to your storyboard like videos, maps, images, links, narrative, to create rich multimedia content. This is a great way to prepare educational presentations, either by a teacher or a student, in any subject and on any topic. It's free if you use it for your own projects but it is a paid service for the classroom of 40 students, however, for $19.99/year (lite account for elementary students) it will be worth every penny. Check the plans for other options.

Very interesting and a very simple tool for those who just want to tell stories, alone or with a group, by quickly adding pictures, video, and voiceover to narrate through the presentation. Looks like a pretty new site and it has both free and paid accounts.

I just tried Glossi which came into existence a few months ago, and it is fabulous! Glossi is an online tool for creating e-magazines or e-books, and it is free!
It's a pleasure to work on Glossi because the process of creating an e-magazine is so simple that even a beginner can do it, and the outcome is visually attractive and up-to-date. Glossi can be used in education for storytelling and for creating presentations with images and text.

Storyboard That is a cutting edge Web 2.0 tool for rapidly creating amazing storyboards, no art skills needed. Great for business meetings and in the classroom for students to express their creativity.

Storyboard That came into existence about half a year ago, it's been upgraded and improved so that now it makes a great online tool for collaborative storytelling. Students can express their creativity by making their stories in a team which then can be downloaded as PowerPoint presentations.

This presentations clearly explains what makes a good story - you need to devise conflict, develop characters and add efficient details. I enjoy this presentation because it explains the details of storywriting with a variety of interesting visuals, which makes it more entertaining to read.

A nice feature of this resource is that you can export your story to Kindle for a small fee (approx $10). You be able to read your ebook on your Kindle, or sell it through Amazon. The ebook reads like a normal Kindle ebook, except that choices are included using hyperlinks.
