"Meet Nelson Makamo. Nelson is a young South African artist who has taken himself to the top over a short few years and he is just getting started. Nelson has had a number of sell out shows both locally and abroad and has recently started to showcase he’s work with the prestigious Everard read gallery in south Africa.
A mere few years ago one could purchase a Makamo work for between 5 and 15000 ZAR and it was clear that this young artist was going places. Today an iconic portrait painting fetches easily over the 100k ZAR mark and is climbing remarkably fast."
