Antarctica

A huge 583-square-kilometer (225-square-mile) iceberg broke off of the Pine Island Glacier, part of the ice shelf that bounds the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. Evidence suggests that the glacier is breaking apart from the inside and, even worse, a second inland rift is forming.
