I love that point Martin! I think people call it social because of the personal element to it as opposed to advertising and things like that, especially because it's so interactive in nature. Do you have a suggestion as to what to change the name to?

Sugata Mitra is named the TED Prize winner at TED2013. He shares his wish—for a school in the cloud that encourages self-learning.
Mitra has a history of research to back up this wish. In 1999, he began what he calls his “hole in the wall” experiment. He carved a hole in a wall in a Delhi slum — about three feet high — and placed a computer in it. Kids had gathered around within a matter of hours and asked Mitra questions about what this thing was. He responded “I don’t know,” and walked away.

Mitra repeated the experiment 300 miles away, where computers even less familiar. He installed a mysterious computer on the side of a road. A few months later, he returned and found kids playing games on it.
Remembers Mitra, “They said, ‘We want a faster processor and a better mouse.’” Another thing these kids said that was music to his ears:
“You’ve given us a machine that works only in English, so we had to teach ourselves English.”

The world has reached a point of inflection in cybercrime. As cyberspace abounds with cyber privateers, and many nations of the world become havens for these modern-day pirates, it appears that 2013 is the year of hacking for criminal gain.
In our recently released predictions for 2013, our CTO Raimund Genes illustrated his strategic vision per the future of cybercrime. The predictions highlight improvements in threats we will encounter in 2013, more specifically on the attack vectors used by cybercriminals. Raimund predicts that attackers will shift their strategy from developing sophisticated malware to focusing on the means to infiltrate networks and evade detection. Via Gust MEES

Ante la negativa del Ministerio de Educación de contar con la comunidad educativa y demás agentes sociales para consensuar la nueva ley de educación, “aprobada por real decreto sin negociación y criticada duramente por el propio Consejo del Estado”, consideramos necesario adherirnos a la convocatoria de huelga general en la enseñanza.
